FIRST Power UP is here!
Be part of the more than 3,600 teams in 2018 comprised of 90,000 students and their adult mentors from around the world who will get to “play for real” in FIRST® POWER UP
FIRST Robotics Competition is the ultimate Sport for the Mind TM, where imagination and innovation come together! By combining the excitement of sport and beauty of art with the rigors of science and technology, teams of high school students (ages 14 – 18/grades 9 – 12) are challenged to design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform tasks against a field of competitors.
Teams work together to build, program and test robots with the guidance of adult mentors. Teams then compete with their robots as family and friends cheer from the stands at more than 160 events worldwide – all leading up to the 2018 FIRST Championship, April 18 – 21 in Houston, TX and April 25 – 28 in Detroit, MI.
In this our 7th year in South Florida we are looking forward to hosting FRC teams at sunny Palm Beach. We are working hard to make sure the local, out of state, and international teams visiting us have a place to play and celebrate the outcome of those arduous 6 weeks of intense labor which will start next January 6, 2018 .
We would like to congratulate the FIRST Robotics Competition Teams that won the 2017 South Florida Regional! We hope you enjoyed the World Championship!
Want to get involved?
- Volunteer – we need more than 150 volunteers to make this game a reality. Come have some fun with us and at the same time help students excited about science, technology… ROBOTICS!
- Mentor a Team – South Florida teams are always looking for the few, the proud, the mentors who can teach them and guide them. It doesn’t matter that you have never built a robot in your life – they need help with marketing, sales, accounting, coding, electronics, media, video editing… you name it. In fact, if you are currently a hard-working adult, you probably have a skill that is needed for the success of their team.
- Sponsor – Hosting 50+ teams require not only human capital, but also just plain capital. Help us IGNITE OUR FUTURE by supporting this wonderful sport of the mind!
If you have any questions about our regional event, please contact us.
